Precautions After Strenuous Exercise

Mar 05, 2026

Post-Exercise

Cool Down: After exercise, do not stop or sit down immediately. Engage in 5-10 minutes of slow walking and stretching to help your body gradually return to a calm state, promote blood circulation, and reduce muscle soreness and lactic acid buildup.

Replenish Nutrition: Within 30 minutes after exercise, you can replenish with appropriate amounts of protein and carbohydrates, such as eggs, milk, and oatmeal, to help repair muscle tissue and restore energy.

Avoid Immediate Showering: After exercise, blood vessels in the skin dilate. Wait 15-30 minutes until your heart rate and breathing stabilize before showering. Avoid cold or hot showers; lukewarm water is best.

Rest: Ensure sufficient sleep and rest to allow your body enough time to recover. Avoid continuous high-intensity exercise to give muscles and other organs sufficient recovery time.

In short, strenuous exercise needs to be planned scientifically and reasonably. Adjust the intensity and method of exercise according to your own physical condition. Pay close attention to your body's reactions during exercise, and adjust or stop exercising immediately if discomfort occurs.
