Change of Direction Run

 

Equipment Required: 8 large marker barrels

Purpose: Develops children's sense of direction and body control while running

Rules:

① All children gather at one side of the field

② Arrange 8 large marker barrels in a rectangular shape in the center of the field, 4 on each side, 2 meters apart. Number each barrel from 1 to 8.

③ Have children start by reaching for marker barrel 1, then 2, and so on. After reaching all the barrels, they should run back from the side.

Note: One student starts at a time; teachers can provide guidance to prevent them from running into the wrong spot.

 

Carrying Run

 

Equipment Required: Rope, large marker barrels

Purpose: Develops children's leg strength and object control

Rules:

① All children gather at one side of the field

② The teacher ties a rope to the marker barrel and hands each student one.

③ Two students start simultaneously, pulling the rope to quickly drag the large marker barrel to the other side of the field. Once the rope touches the line, they run back and then switch to the next group.

Note: The rope should be slightly longer to prevent the marker barrel from colliding with the students while running.

 

Follow-up Run

 

Equipment Required: None

Purpose: To improve children's cardiopulmonary function, running speed, leg strength, and reaction ability.

Rules:

① All students stand in a row in front of the teacher.

② Upon hearing the teacher's start signal, follow the teacher's lead, running from slow to gradually faster. The teacher will lead the students in three 10-meter sprints.

Note: When running, pay attention to safety and avoid pushing or shoving each other. Try to arrange for faster runners to stand in front so as not to affect the speed of those behind them.
