Choosing Wheels
Wheels are a fundamental part of longboarding. Not all wheels are the same or have the same characteristics. Let's focus on two key aspects: hardness and diameter.
The diameter of longboard wheels typically ranges from 60 mm to 130 mm, although the most common sizes are usually between 60 mm and 70 mm. Keep in mind that larger wheels will provide more speed and better absorb shocks caused by bumps or cracks in the road.
Choosing Trucks
Trucks are the metal components that connect the wheels to the board. Depending on the width of the board, the truck size will vary. Typically, trucks measure between 150mm and 180mm. Trucks with rear pivots are the most common and provide more stability and maneuverability.
