Agility Ladder Training - Badminton
In-Out-In-Out Steps
Method: One foot in, then the other foot in.
Next, one foot out, then the other foot out.
This should be brisk and smooth, facilitating small side-to-side movements with the shuttlecock.
Purpose: Developing stride frequency and rhythm.
Two-In-Two-Out
Method: One foot in, then the other foot in, simultaneously sliding one square horizontally.
Next, one foot out, then the other foot out, simultaneously moving one square horizontally.
This should be brisk and smooth, helping with side-to-side speed.
Purpose: Developing foot control and balance.
Side-to-Side Hops Followed by Small Steps
Method: First, perform five consecutive side-to-side hops, followed by a small step run.
Purpose: Develop control of the small muscles in the knees and ankles, and practice quick muscle reactions.
Continuously increase the frequency --> then return to normal speed.
Outside-Inside-Outside Step
Method: Start with both feet outside the rope ladder.
Step into the squares one by one, from left to right, and then back again.
Repeat in the opposite direction.
Purpose: Develop the habit and memory of different footsteps, including different cadences and angles.
Forward-Backward Crossover Step
Method: The crossover step is self-explanatory; the key is to ensure that the footsteps are performed one in front of the other.
Ensure accurate footwork.
Purpose: Improve lower limb coordination and agility, and develop a subconscious habit of frequently using the crossover step.
Outside-Inside Step
Method: Set one foot to step forward on the outside, while the other foot steps into the square once per square.
Purpose: Develop lower limb coordination.
Scorpion Tail Swing
Method: Step forward into the square with your back foot, then follow with your front foot, swinging it laterally out to the side and back of the square.
Purpose: Improve lower limb coordination and rhythmic footwork.
