Doubleheaders (Two Games in One Day)
If two games are scheduled on the same day as a doubleheader, both teams are required to participate as per the schedule. Refusal to play will result in a 0–9 forfeit.
In tournaments, when a makeup game must be held on the same day as a previously scheduled doubleheader, both games must follow all doubleheader rules. When a single ticket covers both games, the first game is treated as the official game of the day.
The second game in a doubleheader must begin only after the first game has ended.
The second game should start 20 minutes after the first game concludes. In special circumstances, this interval can be extended to a maximum of 30 minutes, but both head coaches must be notified by the umpire at the end of the first game.
Note:
If both head coaches agree, the second game should ideally begin within 20 minutes of the first game's conclusion. The umpire should aim to begin the second game promptly, considering field conditions, daylight availability, and weather. If the first game is delayed due to rain or other reasons, it is still counted as the first game of the doubleheader. If a game is rescheduled into a doubleheader day, that rescheduled game becomes the second game, and the originally scheduled game remains the first.
Game Protests
A protest may be lodged if the head coach believes that the umpire misapplied the official rules. The protest must be made according to formal protest procedures. Judgment calls by umpires (e.g., balls and strikes, safe or out) cannot be protested.
If the association or league president, or arbitration committee, determines that the rule was indeed misapplied but did not impact the protesting team's chance to win, the original result of the game stands, and no replay is ordered.
