Frisbee Game
Lay the frisbee flat to excite your dog and encourage it to try to retrieve it.
Initially, simply let the frisbee slide to attract the dog's attention and praise it.
If the dog successfully catches the frisbee, call it back and reward it with food to encourage it to spit it out.
If the dog doesn't return, don't chase it; instead, attract its attention with a new frisbee and throw another one.
If the dog chases the new frisbee, alternate throwing it; if it prefers the original frisbee, try throwing a passing frisbee to increase the temptation.
If the above methods are ineffective, you can punch a hole in the edge of the frisbee, thread a string through it, and use the string to pull the frisbee back while rewarding the dog to cultivate its reflex of "returning to its owner with the frisbee."
With patience and skill, gradually guide your dog to enjoy the fun of frisbee games.
Rolling the Frisbee
Owners can also use rolling the frisbee to get it moving.
Starting with rolling, the grip and throwing technique will be involved.
The grip is the same as the most common backhand throw: the thumb is on the convex side of the frisbee, and the other four fingers are on the concave side, or the index finger can be placed against the outer edge of the frisbee.
Rolling Technique: When pushing or rolling the frisbee, the owner needs to squat down.
When rolling, use the wrist to flick the frisbee forward from above with a backhand grip.
After flicking, the frisbee gains a spin and forward momentum, so it will roll forward after being released.
Bite the Frisbee
Hold the frisbee and tease the dog while giving the command "Bite!".
Once the dog bites the frisbee, immediately release it and give it to the dog, praising and rewarding the dog. Repeat this process.
Tug-of-War
Tug-of-war is an advanced game of tug-of-war, suitable for dogs that can already hold onto the frisbee tightly.
Through a back-and-forth tug-of-war, eventually the dog relinquishes the frisbee, thus developing its patience and confidence.
For puppies, handle gently to avoid damaging their teeth.
Each game session should be limited to 15 minutes to maintain the dog's interest.
At the end of the game, promptly put away the frisbee to prevent the dog from accessing it outside of playtime.
