Tucked away in an office drawer, a silicone grip strengthener that had been forgotten for two years was unearthed once more.
Two years ago, a team representing a company in Zhejiang took part in the East China Information and Communications Industry Volleyball Tournament. During preparations for the competition, the coach noticed that the athletes' hand strength was somewhat lacking, so he specially prepared two silicone grip strengtheners and advised them to practise with them daily.
Throughout the preparation period, grip strength training became part of their daily routine. However, once the tournament was over, the grip trainers were casually tucked away in a drawer and gradually faded from daily life.
Two years later, upon rediscovering it and holding it in my hand once more, the simple act of squeezing it reawakened the resolve to keep up with the exercise.
Squeezing repeatedly with one hand, I completed 30 repetitions of the 20-pound grip strength exercise. After the session, the palms of my hands felt slightly warm, and my hands felt more relaxed and comfortable.
