Key Posture Tips
Basic jump rope movements include single-leg hopping, switching hops, double-leg hopping, hopping with both feet together, hopping with both feet apart, and hopping left and right.
The correct jump rope posture is to jump and land on the balls of your feet, with your knees slightly bent; avoid bending them too much.
Maintain a steady breathing pace while jumping rope.
Jumping should be gentle, aiming for a height of 2-4 cm, ensuring the rope just passes under your feet.
The speed should not be too fast; this can be adjusted based on individual circumstances.
When swinging the jump rope, use your wrists to shake the rope, keeping your forearms naturally bent and your upper arms close to your torso.
Note: Overweight individuals and middle-aged women should jump with both feet simultaneously.
Avoid jumping too high to avoid joint injuries from excessive weight.
You can also try doing a certain number of toe-toe heel raises daily, then resume jump rope training once you've lost weight or become more comfortable.
Choosing a venue
Rope skipping can be done on a moderately soft lawn, wooden floor, or dirt surface.
Avoid hard concrete surfaces to avoid joint damage and dizziness.
Rope skippers should choose soft, lightweight high-top shoes to prevent ankle injuries.
