Waist Support Belt Effect

For patients with acute low back pain, the value of wearing a lumbar support belt is relatively clear.

Multiple clinical studies have confirmed that wearing a lumbar support belt can effectively reduce pain and aid in the recovery of lumbar function.

For individuals with a history of low back pain, wearing a lumbar support belt plays a positive role in preventing recurrence.

Multiple related studies have shown that regularly wearing a lumbar support belt can reduce the probability of low back pain recurrence, especially for individuals prone to lumbar instability or with lumbar muscle strain; the preventative effect of a lumbar support belt is more significant in these cases.

However, for patients with chronic low back pain, the effect of wearing a lumbar support belt is relatively limited.

The causes of chronic low back pain are often related to long-term soft tissue damage.

Although wearing a lumbar support belt can relieve pain in the short term, it cannot fundamentally address the problem of repairing damaged tissues.

Therefore, a lumbar support belt is not the optimal treatment option for patients with chronic low back pain.

When should a lumbar support belt be worn?

During an acute lumbar sprain or lumbar muscle strain, reduce lumbar activity and relieve muscle spasms.

During the acute phase of lumbar disc herniation or lumbar spondylolisthesis, restrict spinal movement and reduce intervertebral disc pressure.

During the recovery period after lumbar spine surgery, assist in maintaining lumbar stability and promote wound healing.

For people who sit or stand for long periods, and manual laborers, prevent excessive stress on the lumbar region.

Contraindications: Pregnant women, those with broken skin, and patients with malignant tumors or bleeding tendencies should avoid using this belt.
