Partial Bench Press
A bench press assistance exercise where pins are placed on the rack at approximately chest height to limit the total range of motion of the exercise, forcing the exerciser to work in a specific portion of the bar path and allowing them to maintain stability and consistency in any trouble spots that may occur.
Pause Bench Press
The Pause Bench Press is a variation of the bench press that is best used when the bar contact point at the bottom of the bar path is inconsistent or unstable, resulting in a poor curve at the end of the bar path and a weak transition between the eccentric and concentric portions of the movement.
Floor Press
Increases the ability to lock out at the end of the movement.
Legs-Up Bench Press
Increases explosiveness to lift the bar, suitable for exercisers with poor lower backs.
Spordo Bench Press
Push up without contacting the chest at the bottom. Increases explosiveness to lift the bar at the bottom, but is very taxing on the tendons.
Pin Bench Press
Improve mid-range sticking points, increase the ability to lock out at the end of the movement, and increase control.
Plank Bench Press
Improve sticking point (the weak point in the bench press trajectory that determines the thickness of the board), increase explosiveness, additional overload.
Barbell + resistance band bench press
Increase explosiveness through the midsection.
Barbell + iron chain bench press
Increase explosiveness through the midsection.
Buffalo bar bench press
The barbell itself has a curvature, which increases the explosiveness of the bar.
