Agility Cones Improve Dribbling Basics

Underhand Dribbling

1. Start with your right hand. Bend your knees slightly, lower your center of gravity, and control the ball with your fingers and wrist.

2. The ball should not exceed the height of the marker.

3. Do this back and forth as one set, three sets each with each hand.

4. After completing the one-handed dribble, do three sets with both hands.

5. Ensure a fast dribbling frequency.

In & Out

1. Start with your right hand. Do one in & out in front of each obstacle.

2. Focus on upper and lower body coordination when dribbling.

3. While dribbling with your right hand, as you lunge with your left leg to the left, focus on shaking your shoulder to the left and shifting your center of gravity to the left.

4. Do this back and forth as one set, three sets each with each hand.

Bottom Dribbling

1. Do one hip dip in front of each obstacle, paying attention to your hips.

2. Afterward, accelerate and cross over the obstacle. Maintain firm control of the ball.

3. Complete the movement as quickly as possible. 4. One back-and-forth movement counts as one set. Do three sets with each hand.

Turns

1. Dribble and turn in front of each obstacle.

2. Using right-handed dribbling as an example, before turning, step forward with your left foot, facing the marker sideways. Simultaneously, dribble the ball once with your right hand, and then perform a back-and-forth movement using your left foot as the pivot.

3. When turning, use the ball's momentum; do not lift it.

4. Keep your ball-guarding hand elevated during the turn. Protect the ball. One back-and-forth movement counts as one set. Complete five sets.

Behind-the-Back Movement

1. Dribble and perform one behind-the-back movement in front of each obstacle.

2. When doing the behind-the-back movement, pay attention to your footwork, taking two small, quick steps to stop and quickly transition to the behind-the-back movement.

3. Be careful not to raise the ball too high.

4. After performing one behind-the-back movement, accelerate and cross-step past the marker.

5. One back-and-forth movement counts as one set. Complete five sets.
