Baseball World Cup
Organized by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF), the first edition was held in 1938 in the UK. Originally held annually, it transitioned to a four-year format starting in 1961. It was the predecessor to the WBC.
Chinese Baseball League (CBL)
Founded in 2002, the CBL is China's fourth national league after soccer, basketball, and volleyball. It is jointly administered by the General Administration of Sport of China and the Chinese Baseball Association.

World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC)
Founded in 1938, formerly known as IBAF. Recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1978. Baseball became an official Olympic sport in 1992.
Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB)
Japan's top professional league, established in 1951. Governed by the Japan Sports Agency, it comprises two leagues: Central League and Pacific League, with a total of 12 teams.
Chinese Baseball Association (CBA)
Established in 1981, it became a member of the IBAF and Asian Baseball Federation in the mid-1980s. Its headquarters is in Beijing.

Jackie Robinson (USA)
Born January 31, 1919, he broke MLB's color barrier in 1947 playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was the first African-American MLB player and won the inaugural Rookie of the Year award.
Ichiro Suzuki (Japan)
Born October 22, 1973. A legendary Japanese player who joined the Seattle Mariners and became one of MLB's most consistent hitters. He holds the Japanese single-season hit record (210) and was a multiple-time All-Star.
Chien-Ming Wang (Taiwan)
Born March 31, 1980. A starting pitcher for the New York Yankees, he became one of MLB's top players from Asia. In 2006, he was named one of Sports Illustrated's "Top 20 Athletes to Watch."
