Combination punches on the Punching Mitts

When performing continuous punches on the Punching Mitts, the athlete can apply the combination punches and combinations learned to the Punching Mitts. In Punching Mitts training, the coach should pre-plan the sequence of continuous punches. For example, after the athlete steps back (to defend against a straight punch to the head), the coach extends the right Punching Mitts forward to prompt the athlete to counter with a left straight punch to the head. The coach uses the position of the Punching Mitts (the direction it faces and its height above the ground) to guide and indicate each punch in the combination. Punching Mitts training is akin to actual combat practice, so it is important to maintain proper basic posture to develop boxing muscle memory.

The two practice boxing with a Punching Mitts at home, which helps them work on their sense of distance, reaction speed, defense skills, timing, accuracy, and power. Beginners start with the basics, like single punches, front straight, back straight, back hook, and front swing. Once they get the hang of it, they can try two-punch combos. The person holding the target should counterattack a bit to help the person throwing the punches practice their defense and counterattack skills. Punching Mitts training should be close to real combat, so you always have to be aware of both offense and defense.
