Net

A net is set up above the center line of the court. The net is 1 meter wide and 9.50 meters long, hanging on two cylinders outside the court.

The women's net is 2.24 meters high and the men's net is 2.43 meters high.

There is a 5-centimeter-wide marking belt at the intersection of the sideline and the center line at both ends of the net, and a 1.80-meter-long marking pole is connected to the outside of each.

Ball

The circumference of the ball is 65-67 cm, the weight is 260-280 g, and the air pressure is 0.40-0.45 kg/cm2.

Position

Players usually do not need to master all six techniques - serve, first pass (receive serve), second pass (lift, dribble), spiking, blocking, and saving. Instead, they usually specialize in one or more of them according to the team's tactics. The most common position allocation includes three positions: attacker (divided into main attacker and secondary attacker), setter, and libero (a full-time defensive player). In order to effectively block the opponent's attack and bounce the ball back to the opponent's court at a steep angle and high speed before the opponent has enough reaction time, generally taller players with good jumping ability serve as attackers.

Setter: The setter's responsibility is to organize the team's offense. They are responsible for sending the ball to the position that is most suitable for the attacker to spike during the second pass. The setter must be able to combine with the spiking player to create a variety of changes to disrupt the opponent's defense. Fast movement and accurate passing are essential qualities for a setter. A good ball-lifter can string together the offensive of the entire team, and must be quite familiar with the characteristics and habits of each attacker on the team. In addition, the setter must also play the role of an attacker at certain times. Therefore, in addition to practicing ball-lifting skills, the setter must also have some long-ball attacking ability. Therefore, the training and development of an excellent setter is also quite hard, so a good setter is the soul of the entire team.
