The victory or defeat of modern volleyball games depends to a large extent on the ability to compete on the net based on comprehensive technology. Spiking and blocking are the most important means of scoring in the game. Without a strong offensive and tight blocking and defense, the back-row defense alone cannot withstand the offense and win the game.

Offensive tactics: fast, high and changeable

At present, the world volleyball offensive tactics are developing very fast, and are developing in the direction of high acceleration, strong attack and accelerated attack, strength plus skills, front and depth.

The main manifestations are:

① Realize tactical coordination in active running, cross-covering and sudden changes, in order to cause the opponent's defensive judgment errors and create a favorable situation of more people against fewer people. Some Asian teams are more proficient in this regard.

② Break the pattern of mechanical division of labor between main attack and secondary attack, and the main attack and secondary attack cover each other for breakthroughs to strengthen the ability of comprehensive attack, enrich the content of tactics, and adapt to various complex situations.

③ In the counterattack, seize the opportunity to use fast and changeable tactics to carry out surprise attacks when the opponent's defense is not determined and the foothold is not stable.

④ Organize high-point or far-net attacks at the front of the net to avoid the opponent's tight block.

⑤ Combine the front-row offensive cover and launch attacks from the back row in the depth area to form a variety of supporting three-dimensional tactics to break through the opponent's tight block.

⑥ Pay attention to the use of individual tactics under the coordination of collective tactics, such as using two-line differentiation (straight or oblique spikes), flat spikes in the back area, turning hands and wrists, hitting hands out of bounds and high-point lobs to enhance breakthrough capabilities.
