PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

In pulling exercises such as the prone row, when men with resistance training experience performed failure sets at 60%, 70%, and 80% of their 1RM with a weight belt, the use of the weight belt had no effect on the number of repetitions; In high-pulley row exercises, when performing three sets to failure at 70% of 1RM with a weight belt, the weight belt did not demonstrate any performance-enhancing effects on muscular endurance; there was no significant difference in total repetitions, with only a slight effect size favoring the use of the weight belt.

In pull-up training, research findings are controversial: one conference study found no difference in the number of repetitions to failure between women with resistance training experience who used and those who did not use resistance bands; however, another conference study reported that men who trained without equipment experienced an increase in the number of repetitions to failure during pull-ups when using resistance bands, showing a small effect size.

In summary, current evidence suggests that the effect of grip straps on improving muscular endurance is negligible or nonexistent; further high-quality research is needed to draw definitive conclusions.

🎯 Acute Effects on Perceptual, Neuromuscular, and Biomechanical Factors

Perceptual Findings

Grip confidence is an important psychological characteristic for resistance trainers. One study assessed trainees' grip confidence using a qualitative self-report questionnaire and found that scores were higher when performing four sets of deadlifts at 80% of 1RM while using a lifting belt; furthermore, compared to performing 1RM without a lifting belt, using a lifting belt significantly reduced the perceived exertion during the third set (moderate effect size) and the fourth set (large effect size).
