Marker buckets are a common piece of equipment used in basketball training.
They come in a variety of colors, have a playful design, and resemble a clown hat, quickly capturing children's attention and making them a favorite.
Today, we'll focus on dribbling and touching the markers.
This combines ball-handling and agility training, significantly improving reaction speed and ball control.
Equipment Placement: With yourself as the center point, place marker buckets of different colors to your left and right, and diagonally in front of you.
Place them so that you can reach them with one step.
Basic Position (Movement Requirements): Toes facing forward, feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart, knees bent, in a half-squat position (sitting down with your buttocks), back straight and shoulders relaxed, head up, eyes looking straight ahead, and peripheral vision observing the surrounding marker buckets.
Upon command, touch the designated colored marker bucket, using the hand closest to the bucket.
After each touch, quickly return to the center position.
One-Handed Dribble in Place
Key Points: Maintain a basic dribbling posture. Keep your peripheral vision focused on the marker. Upon command, push off the ground and step toward the target color. Respond quickly to the marker.
Front-Body Change of Direction Dribble in Place
Key Points: Maintain a basic dribbling posture, keep your arms relaxed, and use your forearms to guide your fingers in pushing the ball.
Keep your peripheral vision focused on the marker and respond quickly to the command.
Two-Ball Dribble in Place
Key Points: Maintain a basic dribbling posture and dribble both balls in unison.
Keep your peripheral vision focused on the marker.
When instructed, step forward to touch the marker.
Release the ball on the side away from the marker, then dribble the ball closer to the marker while still touching it.
Return quickly to your starting position after touching the marker.
This exercise tests your reflexes and ball handling.
The dribbling and touching the marker barrel training is similar to the reaction light training.
By touching different colors, players can "task multiple tasks at once", improve their judgment, reaction and adaptability, make their hands and feet, hands and eyes, and hands and brains coordinated and unified efficiently, enhance body coordination and the ability to connect with the ball, and quickly improve ball control skills.
