Overview
The basic techniques are divided into six major items: preparation posture and movement, passing, padding, serving, spiking, and blocking. The commonly used moving steps in the game are sliding, cross step, jump step, stride and running.
Passing
Passing is a technical action of hitting the ball with both hands (or one hand) at the chest and above, by pushing off the ground, stretching the arms, and using the power of the wrist and fingers to bounce. The main function of passing is to pass the received ball to the rest of the players to attack or attack directly. Whether a team's offensive ability can be fully utilized depends largely on the team's passing level. In order to compete for the advantage on the net and make the offensive tactics fast and changeable, the setter plays a core role.
Padding
It is a technical action of hitting the ball with the front of the forearms of both hands and the rebound force of the incoming ball by pushing off the ground and raising the arms. Padding is mostly used for receiving serves, receiving spikes, and receiving blocked returns in the game. It is an important technique to change from passive to active in order to score more points and lose less points in the game.
Serving
The player throws the ball by himself and hits the ball into the opponent's court from the two empty markers on the net with one hand. Serving is the beginning of the game and the attack. It is the only technical action in volleyball that is not restricted by others. An aggressive serve can not only score directly, but also weaken or even destroy the opponent's offense, disrupt the opponent's deployment, and psychologically deter the opponent.
