Using Treadmill Gym

When you first stand in front of a treadmill at the gym, are you both excited and a little overwhelmed? ,

Those flashing buttons and rolling belts seem to hold countless codes that need to be cracked.

Three Preparations Before Getting on the Treadmill

Equipment Check: Wear the Right Gear Before You Move

Never wear canvas shoes, leather shoes, or even slippers on the treadmill! Professional running shoes are a must-the shock-absorbing air cushion in the sole will cushion the impact of the running belt on your knees, and the anti-slip tread will firmly grip the belt.

Choose jogger pants or shorts that are above the knee to avoid loose wide-leg pants getting caught in the running belt. If you're wearing headphones, don't turn the volume up too high; you should be able to hear your surroundings and the treadmill's warning sounds.

Machine Inspection: Look Before You Touch

Stand to the side of the treadmill and check if the running belt is crooked, and if there are any water stains or dust on the surface (if so, wipe it clean with a gym towel).

Pay attention to the location of the emergency stop button-usually a small red square, sometimes with a safety rope attached (the end clips to your clothing and automatically stops the machine in case of a fall).

Make sure there's space next to you to avoid your arms hitting other equipment while running.

Warm-up Activation: Sending the Body a "Start Signal"

Spend 5 minutes on a dynamic warm-up, focusing on the lower limbs:
High Knees (30 seconds): Quickly alternate raising your legs in place, bringing your knees as close to your chest as possible.
Lunges (10 reps per side): With your back knee on the ground, lean forward to stretch your hips.
Ankle Circles: Draw circles with your toes, 10 circles on each side.

Warm up until you're slightly sweaty. This step helps awaken muscles from a "dormant" state and reduces the risk of strain.
